The Friendly Giant

There was once a giant, a friendly little man. This sweet and unharmful man, used to walk from mountain to mountain stepping on the high peaks. He used to blow bubbles into the sky, that somehow would turn into beautiful planets that orbited the earth and every other planet in the galaxy. He always could see the beginning of space from down were he was standing, his head far beyond the clouds.

The man made his clothes from old tree bark, and silk. He carried a bag that was hanging on the end of a tree, with the leaves plucked of. He had shoes made from 2 big rocks that could fit his feet perfectly. With a hat made of a stone mountain that was hollow on the inside. He loved creating brand new planets, he used to name and make about 15 planets a day. No one knows where he is today but what we do know is that he locked all diseases in his bag. The End

So this was a fun experience and would do it again.

a Long Walk to Water - Essay Writing

In 7/8 MNL, we were assigned with an essay to write about a character from the story, a Long Walk to Water, i chose the young boy Salva. b

Salva

In the story a Long Walk to Water, by Linda Sue Park, a character I found interesting is a a young boy named Salva. Salva throughout the Novel twas, scared after a shooting occurred at his school forcing him to flee to the bushes nearby, leaving his family and old life behind him. Salva from the tribe of Dinka, natural enemies to the Nuer tribe.

One quality Salva displayed was that he was courageous. to show this, he had walked for miles, to get away from danger with a group of people that would ignore Salva, they slept the night over, in a barn with no one in sight. Salva woke late in the morning, alone, and confused, the group left him! The boy walked around the unfamiliar land, and beyond the horizon he could spot, a shack with a little old lady. As he walked closer he realised she had a V shaped scar on her forehead. This made Salva relieved, this is the symbol from Salva's tribe Dinka. The lady managed to smuggle the boy into a new group that wouldn't leave him if he kept out the way. You see if Salva didn't pick up the courage to speak to the lady he wouldn't be in the position he is in now.

Another quality that Salva displayed, was that he was kind. He portrayed this as he, made a new friend named Marial, he met the boy when a another group attaches to Salva's. Salva shared his low resources of water and food to the boy. this isn't the only time Salva portrayed kindness, years after all his walking and tragic childhood. When Salva found out he was going to be transported to America, obviously Salva was ecstatic, he was going to another country that's not a continent in Africa. When he arrived in New York he was respectful, and appreciated them taking him in to there home.

Last but not least Salva was happy, and greatful. The boy from his young age to his elders was grateful for every little thing in life. He was a happy boy, and it puts a smile on his face when he recalls those bittersweet childhood memories with his family, like the succulent sweet taste of mango that his father would bring back from the market, and the time's his family would pass a bottle of coca cola around from one to another, laughing at the bubbles bursting in their mouths, like mini explosions, like those in the background, waiting for others bad luck to touch Salva and his new life to come.

So Salva was a sweet and kind young boy, his life was difficult but he fought through it. He recalls on his memories from his childhood, that was striped away from him at a moment's notice, I imagine him lying on his deathbed recalling on the memories he had enjoyed at his once called home shedding a light tear, as the light shines on him once again and reunites with his family.

Zoos

In my opinion Zoos should be banned, because they are taking wild animals that should be free, and are caging them up. People who own zoos should treat their animals kindly instead of leaving them in captivity and only caring for the money they earn. These people go around tranquillising these free and happy animals and forcing in a cage for people's entertainment. The saddest thing i have seen was in Singapore where there was a polar bear swimming in what looked like a 100 meter glass box,it did have a sad little ice hut but that's it. I find this sad because it should be able to roam free through the antarctic, with free land and cubs that they can teach how to hunt.

But this doesn't mean that all zoos are bad some take animals that have been found injured or lost ore even close to dying! So they are like animal shelters they take care of the animals and teach how to walk, run, and hunt again while people can watch. And then once they've grown up, they are set free to roam the earth.

All and all i think zoos can be a happy place for animals and people, for little children to enjoy or even for adults. Some zoos animals can walk around following you freely as you pat them. There are even zoos dedicated just for patting. So in my opinion, some should be band but not all just take care of animals, and are environment while we have the chance.

Pollution

I think pollution is a harsh topic to talk about because it’s destroying our environment, and us humans at the same time. Life shouldn’t be fumes letting of chemicals into the air or, mountain made out of pure rubbish. Pollution is awful and extremely depressing knowing that we only have twelve years from now to fix what we've created. I think that the creation of the nuclear bomb was the worst idea known to man.

I think a way to stop pollution is to ban and make all one use only plastic illegal. Not only would this benefit and improve are wealth and environment a lot, but will also provide future generations a clean and healthy life. To see no more sadness of people rowing boats through rivers of trash. And no for turtles choking and dying on plastic bags.

But what I find the most sad is that scientists are saying in a few years time if we don't stop pollution, that there will be more rubbish than there are fish in the ocean. And the more you can tell people about this word wide problem, and ask them to solve this, by quitting plastic for a year or even your life time, or going around planting thousands upon thousands of trees, to give fresh new oxygen. So to ever who reading please take this for granted and quit anything to solve pollution thank you.

The Art of Music

This week in 7/8 MNL we've been learning how to create paragraphs, by starting from the main idea, and then explaining that idea, and giving proof about that idea, and add a linking sentence to first sentence you wrote to round the paragraph off.

I think music is a great form of entertainment and working industry. I think music can be beautiful and uplifting. My evidence towards this is imagine a life without music, it would be boring, life would be dull, and not as happy as it should be. I wouldn’t be able to hear the birds chirping too the early sunrise, no more warming your throat by singing softly in the shower, no more hearing your favourite artists sing again, it would be depressing.

However in every time period music always seems to follow a trend, and to eventually sound exactly the same, whether it's the vocals sounding identical, or the beat and rhythm being the same. But with that there is always the one song that breaks out of this trend of looping music with beats and melody, with vocals you've never heard before.

For example some of the most noteworthy ones are, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, or Bad Guy by Billie Eilish. These songs are known for being different and took to a whole new place no one had ever seen before. Another thing to note is that it isn't easy to just simply make a song to be a hit, or liked, you need to make lyrics that makes somewhat sense, and a make a catchy beat that people can grip onto.

But no matter what music will always stick around, its been here since the beginning of the human race, by banging stones together, and making loud sounds with your mouth to form some sort of beat, so if you are ever feeling bored or sad just remember, to sing out loud bring and let that sunshine glow on you.

15 minute writing

It was a dark and gloomy night, in the middle of a forest stood a crooked and unbalanced cabin, that look as could topple over any second. This cabin was by the creek, the was a man that all the children made fun of so he moved the woods, and that's the reasoning for his location, this man was nameless and was known to the people as man Garry. Garry didn’t have any electricity except his car, so Garry lights up his home with candles and a fireplace to keep himself warm. Garry had a boat that he made out of a tree stump that had been used to build the cabin. He likes to go fishing in the creek on his boat with a fishing rod that he forged out of stick, and a thread of string made from Harakeke, with the addition of a sharp rock to use as a hook. The man died in peace at the age of 83.

Narrative Animation

In Homeroom we have been doing narrative writing and we had to make our own animations of our narratives. We first started of with a narrative planner, and then moved on to a narrative story. And from that story we made an animation, then we later read our story while our animation would play to make this video, I hope you enjoy.  We used google slides to make the animation and screencastify to do the voice over recording. I learnt the importance of timing when recording.

The Thing

The Thing

Foot after foot running for my life, from…..from this thing! How did this happen is probably the main question you are thinking right now, well strap in cause this stuff gets deep. I was living my normal life, normal work, i was a plumber that helped drain the sewers, i used to climb down and drain out all the water that hadn't been drained yet.

I went down one day punting the water pipes in and riding the sewer of water i took corners getting rid of this disgusting water, i had gotten used to the smell down here but something did not smell right, it was the smell of rotting meat. I turned the corner to see a pitch black creature with glowing white eyes, i didn’t seem still it resembles more like smoke? I was not sure, but whatever it was i was scared of it.

I ran ran faster then i ever had before, corner after, i saw the ladder leading up to surface i looked behind me to see the glowing white eyes of this creature haunting from behind, i ran even faster to the ladder i leapt up on to the 8th handle of the ladder and scattered up to the surface. I have told this to all my family friends and co workers none of them believed me, but i knew i saw that something live in deeps down there in the sewers.

Unfair Justice

In P.E class, a little girl named Billy Heytings was assaulted by a big boy about 12 years in age called Samantha Rulyings. the reason why this vicious attack took place is because Billy missed  the final shot in basketball, this outraged Samantha so much that he went his way to tackle Billy on to the ground , and proceeded to throw his fits into her face one fist after another. eventually Ms Bob rammed herself thru the crowd of students and stop this fight. She sent Billy, and Samantha was sent to the principle believed to be suspended for over 2 months! instead he walked into the principal's office, and was not seen since! Leaving the question what ever happened to Samantha Rulyings.

About two years later a rescue crew found Samantha dead in the janitors shed with a shiny polished silver bullet submerged deep in the skull of Samantha Rulyings.

The Lake of Kazuri

One frightful morning on the rough surface of lake Kazuri a woman called Entu was close to
giving
birth to a newborn baby these native americans were on a kunu sailing across this massive
Lake of Kazuri. Chumoto Entu’s husband was encouraging and empowering Entu to be strong.
But little did they know that water was flowing thru there kunu. Chumoto and Lia the two strong
men on board were panicking as Entu was in deep pain a minute flew by and Entu’s first born
had arrived. The men were still panicking tho including Entu now as she just realised what had
been happening. The men were gushing out water as fast as they possibly could one bucket
after another after another, until the born child laughed at something in the water Entu looked
there were little creatures quickly swimming up to the boat, Entu reported to Chumoto and Lia
that there might be a possible threat Chumoto and Lia paid no attention and kept removing
watefrom the kunu 30 seconds gone past and every on board the boat could feel themselves
rising up into the air everyone looked down to see 28 little creatures lifting there kunu up and out
of the water. Everybody was surprised at the site of a newborn and mysterious creatures that had
emerged out of the water of lake Kazuri at the time of need. This story has been said to children
and many others, that these creatures are still living under the water of the this legendary lake.

The Fisherman From The Future

In the year 3046, everything has incredibly, advanced. Except before world peace had came around, there was a nuclear war yea ww3 happened sadly, so let's have a brief history lesson. Horrible events have happened over the years of earth, from ww1 to 911, but ww3 was entente for many different reason like racism, assassination, and nuclear weapons the whole reason of ww3, it was a test. A test for a brand new nuclear bomb called the pithon, the python was not like any other nuclear weapon you see 4 of these bombs would launched at specific points on the earth would spread right across the globe literally, but only 2 of the pythons were launched.

The White Peacock

Deeply, in the planes of china, the sheung wan tree stands tall with a beautiful white peacock resting calmly, itself on one of the long branches on the beautiful tree. Oddly, this this bird is an outcast, she always has been, since the day she was born. She hides among the trees so no one will ever find her, she's ashamed of herself, because she has no beautiful colours like all the other birds

Star Wars Review

Star Wars is great trilogy of films, that has great characters, and plot points, the actors in these films are just phenomenal, like i mean there facial expression were nailed down to a point.
The films and plot were so well directed, that you completely forget that you were even  watching a movie. The movies look and seem like they are in the future, but in reality its based a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away.

Poem's

Poem's

These are mini poem's about, the kitchen, the beach, my bedroom, and a special place to me, mine is Otaki. there are also 2 subject we have to right these poem's about and they are taste, feel, smell, see, and hear.
⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀⇀

My Bedroom

My mouth can feel a taste of damp, and mugy air in my bedroom.

I can see a bed unmade and dirty clothing on the floor.

I can smell the fresh grass from outside my window.

I can hear birds singing, and the breeze of wind, outside.

I feel my bed.

The Kitchen

My mouth has a watering sensation in this place.

My eye's start to water well i start to chop the onions on the chopping board.

My nose can detect a wonderful smell, coming from this heavenly place.

I can feel the heat coming from the oven.

I can hear the mince sizzling on the pan.

I can see the steam rising from the pot, of spaghetti.

The Beach
I can feel the soft sand, sweeping across my feet.

I can taste the fish, in my mouth.

I can smell the seaweed wiggling under the water.

I can see the waves crashing on to shore.

I can hear the wind forming the wild, and crazy, wave's.

Otaki

I feel the water splash on my body, as i do bomb's, and back slap, at the pots

I can taste fish and chips.

I can smell the beautiful flowers.

I can hear the surfers catching the waves, at the beach.

I can see the tree's outside of my house.

Na Haki.
